Space Mates

Space Mates is a rhythm-based game created for the Global Game Jam 2016. The theme was rituals, so myself and 4 friends decided to create a game about alien mating rituals. All visual assets for the game are created using stop motion clay animation, giving it a unique visual style not seen in many other games.

The game was made in Unreal Engine 4. I hadn’t used UE4 before but most of the team had so it felt like the best choice. It took some time to get used to the blueprint system but eventually we managed to get the game working.¬†Technically the game wasn’t very complex, but we still managed to create something enjoyable due to its unique style.
